BCD’s Snyder on why creativity, confidence and community matter to business travel’s recovery

BCD’s President and CEO Snyder shares how BCD Travel is prioritizing solutions and services to help navigate the pandemic.

Vaccines, traveler confidence and a supportive business travel community will help bring the industry back. That’s the outlook from BCD Travel President and CEO John Snyder. In a LinkedIn post, Snyder shares how he and the company are working to get back on the path to travel.

A COVID-19 Information Hub, newly launched Life Sciences Center of Excellence, and excused time off for vaccination appointments are just a few ways BCD is prioritizing solutions and services to help navigate the pandemic.

“I’ve said since the outbreak of the pandemic that vaccine coverage will be the most important factor deciding when and to what extent business travel will come back,” Snyder wrote. “It’s important to me to support all of our BCD family in taking this next critical step for our global community, and as a company, we wanted to remove a significant potential barrier. That’s why no BCD employee will need to use paid or unpaid time off for their vaccination appointments.”

BCD is equally focused on client and traveler needs. The company launched its COVID-19 Info Hub at the onset of the pandemic to provide travelers real-time information on COVID-19 travel risks and requirements. The Hub is updated regularly with country level information, including mandatory testing requirements, necessary health certifications and new quarantine rules. Travelers preferring the personal touch still can reach a BCD Travel agent.

BCD also is the first travel management company to become a member in the Good Health Pass Collaborative representing corporate clients’ interests in pushing for the standardization and scalability of digital health passes (DHP). DHPs are being developed by technology firms, airlines, international organizations and governments with the aim of validating the authenticity of a traveler’s COVID-19 test results or vaccination records.

“These are times that call for creativity and innovation on all fronts, so we’re continuing to expand, enhance and pivot,” Snyder said. “We recently publicly launched the BCD Travel Life Sciences Center of Excellence and will reinforce this new offering with innovative patient travel and patient engagement services—solutions that have taken on special resonance in the current climate. And we continue to build out our solutions for clients who are, more than ever, focused on sustainability—including a dedicated Sustainability practice from our consulting arm, Advito, and integrated carbon-offset solutions via our SolutionSource® technology partner marketplace.”

Snyder said, “Creative solutions that serve our communities as well as our clients: That’s the BCD way.”
