Research Snapshot: Return to the office in the U.S.

More than 40% of workers have returned to the office, and this trend is expected to accelerate during 2022

Office occupancy was headed up above 40% by the end of 2021. Recovery was derailed by the Omicron variant of COVID-19, although the impact was only temporary. By the end of April 2022, occupancy had returned to 42%.

JLL expects the return of workers to the office to accelerate during the remainder of 2022, forecasting occupancy of 75% by the start of 2023.
