The 2025 season of BCD’s Making a Difference program is well underway – and bigger than before. This year, through our flagship charity and volunteer program, we’re working with 69 child-focused projects across 28 countries. That’s more opportunities for our teams to collaborate with local nonprofits and create lasting, meaningful change for children in the communities where we live and work.
Making a Difference continues to be a highlight of our year – and a clear reflection of the values our people bring to BCD every day. Here’s a quick look at some of the inspiring projects already in motion.
Backpacks and belonging: Supporting Aboriginal students (Sydney, Australia)
In Sydney, Australia, the KARI Foundation is helping Aboriginal children thrive through culturally connected education programs. With support from Making a Difference, BCD’s Australia team is funding three of KARI’s initiatives: backpack programs that equip kindergarten and high school students with essential supplies, and scholarships that foster pride, resilience and academic success.
The KARI Foundation is dedicated to strengthening Aboriginal culture and community through programs in education, family support, business and the arts.

To kick off 2025, the AU team raised funds with an Air Canada raffle and is planning future events – including a student art competition that will inspire BCD’s Reconciliation Action Plan. For the BCD Australia team, this project is about more than school supplies – it’s about investing in equity, opportunity and long-term change.
Judo and Inclusion (Salerno, Italy)

In Salerno, Italy, a local judo school is empowering children with autism, Down syndrome, visual impairments and other disabilities through sport. With support from Making a Difference, BCD is helping A.S.D. Judo and Inclusion expand its inclusive programs – from gym classes and summer camps to public showcases and competitions where every child participates, regardless of ability. The program builds mobility, confidence and community – giving kids a stronger foundation for life.
Safe beds for kids in crisis (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho)
In Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Canopy Village is restoring hope for children and families facing crisis. For over 35 years, this trauma-responsive nonprofit has offered emergency shelter, respite care, and long-term treatment for kids who’ve experienced abuse, neglect or family instability.

Thanks to support from Making a Difference, the next 40 children in need of a crisis respite bed at Canopy Village will have a safe place to stay – free of charge. It’s a vital service: Canopy Village has seen a 28% rise in demand for emergency care and relies on community donations to continue its mission.
SaveTheLaSalle (Northeast Ontario, Canada)
Sometimes making a difference starts with giving young people the space to dream big. That’s the goal of SaveTheLaSalle, a nonprofit that’s preserving a historic local theatre and turning it into a creative hub for youth in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
With Making a Difference support, the BCD Global Client Team helped launch a fundraising campaign for theater camps, live performances, coaching and production opportunities throughout the year.

For kids in this remote area, the theater provides an alternative to negative influences – and an outlet to explore their talents and imagination. This is the first Canadian-based charity to join the Making a Difference program.
Running for a cause: Supporting A21 (Mallorca, Spain)
In October, as many as 100 BCD employees will take part in the Tui Palma Marathon Mallorca 2025 to raise funds for A21, a nonprofit committed to ending human trafficking. The organization works around the world to rescue victims, support survivors and prevent exploitation through education and legal advocacy.
Participants will run 10K, a half marathon or a full marathon along Mallorca’s scenic coastline – all while helping shine a light on one of the world’s most urgent human rights issues.
