Among them are track & trace apps that follow users’ movements and alert them if they’ve been in close contact with ill people. Some apps allow users to convert their COVID-19 vaccination certificate or test result into a QR code, which acts as a digital health certificate.
In some countries, using these apps is voluntary; in other countries, these apps can be mandatory, even for arriving travelers.
