Meaningful change can start with little or no fanfare. Sometimes it starts simply with people making small, intentional choices every day. That was the idea behind Mission Possible 2026, BCD’s global employee engagement campaign that encouraged simple, practical actions in support of environmental sustainability. Over the course of three months, colleagues around the world came together around a shared goal: reducing daily environmental impact through habits that are easy to adopt and sustain.
The power of collective action
Launched in February 2026, Mission Possible invited employees to become “Agents of Change” by participating in three sustainability-focused challenges:
- Plastic Free: Reduce day-to-day plastic use
- Power Down: Use energy more intentionally
- Move Mindfully: Make thoughtful movement and travel choices
The campaign was simple. Rather than focusing on large-scale commitments, it encouraged practical actions that employees could incorporate into their daily routines at work and at home. By the campaign’s conclusion, more than 400 employees had actively participated, collectively logging 1,985 sustainable actions. The campaign nearly doubled its original goal of 1,000 actions.

Recognizing employee leadership
The campaign also celebrated employees who went above and beyond to inspire participation and encourage positive habits among their colleagues.
Top contributors represented teams across multiple countries, reflecting the global nature of the initiative and the shared commitment of BCD employees to supporting sustainability efforts within their communities.
“During Mission Possible, I mainly focused on reducing plastic and moving more by walking,” said Celica Sanchez, who works as a BCD customer care champion in Spain. “This kept me motivated to prepare my own lunch every day and bring it in a reusable container instead of buying something from the supermarket with plastic packaging. At the same time, I became more conscious about my food choices and started eating healthier, which was a great bonus.”
“I felt inspired by the idea of making small, everyday changes that can actually have a positive impact. With the arrival of better weather and summer around the corner, I also enjoyed opening the windows more and walking or cycling instead of using the car. This not only helped reduce electricity and fuel consumption, but also significantly improved my mood by spending more time outdoors in the sun. I will definitely continue these habits going forward,” Sanchez said.
An internal workshop on CO₂ use inspired BCD Team Lead Ornella Cumine to participate. “The workshop made me realize that my personal carbon footprint was high. This encouraged me to take more meaningful actions towards sustainability and stay committed to the mission. Rather than focusing on just one habit, I practice as many sustainable actions as possible, especially having a better understanding of how CO₂emissions are affecting our planet. “
Building habits that last
Mercedes Ceballos, Senior Manager Client Success and Sales Optimization Administration at BCD, was most inspired by the Move Mindfully campaign. “I love walking and try to get everywhere on foot. Seeing that I could motivate and positively influence others kept me motivated,” Ceballos said.
“I will continue to practice everything I’ve learned regarding replacing plastic with more environmentally friendly and sustainable materials, as well as being very mindful of my gas and electricity usage, but above all, I will continue to spread the word to those around me and the local community.”
For Holly Johnson, Senior Manager – Global Sales Cycle Support in the U.K., Mission Possible was about building habits that last. She made simple changes such as choosing products with less packaging, cooking more efficiently and walking whenever possible. The campaign’s action tracker helped keep her motivated and accountable. Inspired by BCD’s commitment to sustainability, Johnson plans to continue reducing plastic use through refillable and reusable alternatives long after the campaign has ended.
Mission Possible reinforced an important lesson: sustainability is shaped not only by strategy and long-term goals, but by everyday choices. Fittingly, the campaign closed on June 5, World Environment Day 2026. The results show how individual actions, taken together, can drive lasting impact.
