Our Commitment to Accessibility
At BCD Travel, we are deeply committed to ensuring that our organization provides an accessible experience and environment for all who interact with us, including our global workforce and our customers.
As part of this commitment, we strive to facilitate the accommodation of people with disabilities so that all members of our community may share the same level of access to the services, solutions and opportunities we offer.
Traveler Accessibility Solutions
Our traveler solutions consider individuality and support inclusivity at every stage of the journey. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience that comes from providing accessible services to our customers of all diversity dimensions for decades. BCD recognizes the varying needs and challenges of travelers; and we are equipped to ensure they can all travel seamlessly and successfully—from pre-trip planning and booking through to on-trip and post trip management.
Travelers with disabilities can experience a wide range of difficulties and barriers due to the way services and environments are designed. BCD Travel breaks down these barriers to equitable access through the following solutions:
- Experienced consultants who are coached to approach interactions with empathy and compassion.
- Specialized consultant training that builds understanding and awareness of visible and non-visible disabilities, educates participants on best practices and guidelines for how to interact and communicate with travelers with accessibility needs, and outlines specific steps and processes for accommodating travelers with these needs.
- A comprehensive central repository of accessibility information for key suppliers and programs provided to all consultants.
- Omnichannel contact capabilities (voice, email, chat), offering travelers the option to contact BCD Travel via the communication channel most accessible to them.
- Digitally accessible traveler engagement and booking platform, TripSource, that adheres to WCAG, section 508 and EN 301 549 requirements, and incorporates an AI-driven accessibility widget to support those with additional visual, auditory, physical and speech needs.
- Supplier sourcing expertise and services to ensure vendors meet accessibility requirements and offer the appropriate services.
- Traveler Security Program Assessment that includes holistic risk assessment and strategy development to ensure duty of care extends to those with accessibility needs.
- Production of inclusive traveler engagement communications that are representative of and accessible to everyone through Advito’s Engage offering.
- Specialist third-party technology integrations through BCD Marketplace, including Maiden Voyage (inclusive travel e-learning).
- Use of customers’ preferred accessibility providers via our Travel Data API.
