BCD joins effort to end human trafficking

Travel management company is using global reach to raise awareness.

BCD Travel has launched a partnership with End Child Prostitution and Trafficking (ECPAT), the leading international organization seeking to end exploitation of children by raising awareness, advocating for victims and pushing for policy and legislative changes to protect them.

The travel management company’s position as a leader in the global business travel industry provides a unique opportunity to help. The United Nations’ International Labour Organization estimates that more than 40 million people around the world are trapped in modern day slavery. Traffickers often use air travel to transport victims and use hotels as venues to abuse them. BCD is using its reach to raise awareness of the issue and protect children.

The partnership with ECPAT aligns with BCD’s participation in The Code, a multi-member initiative of the travel industry. The Code encourages members to provide educational tools and support initiatives to end the sexual exploitation of children.

BCD is working to raise awareness about modern day slavery with employees and travelers, as well as encouraging other companies in the industry to join the cause.
