BCD joins forces with Travalyst to champion sustainable tourism

BCD Travel has joined Travalyst, a global coalition founded by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, to promote sustainable tourism. As the first Travel Management Company (TMC) to join, BCD will collaborate with industry leaders like Google and Booking.com to develop new sustainability standards.

In January, BCD joined Travalyst, a not-for-profit global coalition founded by Britain’s Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex. Travalyst brings together leading travel and technology companies to promote sustainable tourism by providing clear, consistent and credible sustainability information to travelers. This partnership aligns with our strategic blueprint, enhancing sustainability solutions for enterprise and SME clients, and ensuring corporate travel managers’ voices are integrated into Travalyst’s initiatives. As part of Travalyst, BCD is in a position to influence the development of new standards and approaches to communicating sustainability to corporate travelers, whether for hotel, air or rail.

As the first TMC to join the organization, BCD sits alongside industry partners such as Amadeus, Booking.com, Expedia Group, Google, Mastercard, Sabre, Skyscanner, Travelport, Trip.com, Tripadvisor and Visa. Representatives from across BCD Travel, Advito and BCD Meeting & Events will participate in various working groups that oversee the development of Travalyst products, as well as the various events that they organize throughout the year.

“For our clients, this partnership means that the voice of the corporate travel manager and corporate traveler is fully integrated into the new standards and approaches that Travalyst develops. This includes alignment across point of sale, sourcing and reporting,” said Olivia Ruggles-Brise, Vice President of Sustainability for BCD Travel. Clients will also be able to keep up to date with latest developments in sustainability regulations via Travalyst’s policy unit.
