Early Career Programs at BCD
Travel Consultant Traineeship
Our Travel Consultant Traineeship is a virtual PAID 10-Week Training Program in Costa Rica and the U.S. that teaches you about the world of corporate travel management, as well as the airline, car rental, rail, and hotel industries. Successful completion of this program will result in a full-time, benefits-eligible role that is 100% remote.
Travel Consultant Program
Our program in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is a six-month program that focuses on developing both technical and professional skills needed to become an excellent Travel Consultant. You’ll get to experience our fun office and team-building events at our location in Galle Face.
IT internship
Our IT department applies security policies, controls, and best practices to improve the information security operations within BCD Travel. Interns assist with security coordination and control activities, audits, and reporting.
Apprenticeship Program
Our standardized German apprenticeship program, typically lasting three years, equips trainees with the skills for a career as a travel agent. Offered across several German locations, the program provides comprehensive, hands-on experience. Upon successful completion, we are committed to offering our apprentices a permanent employment contract.
Internship Program
Our six-month Apprenticeship Program in India offers recent graduates and newcomers to the industry practical training and experience. Designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry needs, this program provides a strong foundation for launching business travel careers.
Apprenticeship Program
Our UK Apprenticeship program runs for 12 to 15 months, during which BCD partners with a Learning Provider to help apprentices achieve an industry-recognized Level 3 qualification. You’ll receive training on key BCD tools, including Sabre and Amadeus, and complete an Introduction to Business Travel course, along with soft skills development, before transitioning into a live work environment.
Hear from Christian and others
Christian Kirkegaard is a great example of how our team members can grow within the company. He joined BCD in 2014 as an intern and advanced from an HR Business Partner to his current role as Director, People & Culture, Europe.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to grow and develop through various exciting roles within People & Culture.
I began my journey at BCD Travel with a 10-week internship, thinking it was just a short-term experience. But here I am, 10 years later, still part of the team! From supporting colleagues internally, to partnering with business leaders across Europe, and now leading our core People & Culture team in the region. I highly recommend BCD for internships or apprenticeships—it’s a place where you can truly grow and build a lasting career.
My internship at BCD Travel was a fantastic experience. The team was incredibly supportive, and we had a lot of fun working together. I learned so much and developed strong relationships that made even the busiest days enjoyable. I’m grateful for the opportunity and the growth it provided.
Arindu
Travel Consultant, Sri Lanka
With no prior travel experience, the TCT program seemed like a daunting undertaking. After the first week though, things started rolling and something that was new to me at the start of the day would be mastered by the end of the next. Now, I am confident and thriving in my Travel Consultant role.
Ashley
Travel Consultant Trainee, U.S.
Working with BCD's Information Security team has both afforded me the opportunity to learn more about cybersecurity and allowed me to share what I have learned with the broader company. I’ve greatly enjoyed my time here!

Information Security Intern, U.S.
