Business travel programs have historically focused on controlling costs. But in the chaos, the Covid-19 virus highlighted the importance of protecting the workforce. This has resulted in a major shift to duty of care and traveller wellbeing.
How does this change your preferred supplier agreements?
Based on a recent BCD Travel survey, the majority of Travel Managers are re-negotiating existing agreements and issuing new requirements to preferred suppliers.
1. Travel buyers are increasingly incorporating cleanliness requirements and flexible cancellation policies into supplier negotiations.
2. Hotel health and safety certification, digital services and the requirement to use preferred suppliers are among the most popular hotel policy changes.
3. Half of respondents plan to negotiate fewer preferred properties and lower volume per hotel.
