Case study: BCD and WINiT partner on professional growth

Mentorship, tools enrich career development for women in the travel industry.

BCD Travel is committed to enabling its people to develop to their fullest potential, so partnering with WINiT makes perfect sense. WINiT, officially Women in Travel, is a nonprofit network of women and men promoting the visibility and mobility of women in the travel, meeting, event and exhibition industries.

Career-enrichment case study

A recent case study describes how WINiT resources enrich BCD employees’ professional education and career advancement. One example is the online WINiT Classroom portal. Another is the WINiT Mentor Program, which pairs mentors and mentees from different companies in the industry.

BCD employees comprise the largest group from any WINiT member company, with more than 180 active members. BCD Meetings & Events’ Karen deKanter, director of business development, received the 2016 Lyft Up to WINiT Award for her involvement, leadership and contributions to the organization.

Support for WINiT

“BCD Travel truly embodies the spirit of everything we hope for in a donor and partner,” said Dawn Repoli, executive director and chief operating officer of WINiT. “From its commitment to WINiT as an organization to the individual support of its employees as members, leaders and volunteers, we feel so fortunate to have BCD Travel’s support and commitment as we strive to create opportunities for women in the travel, meeting, event and exhibition industries.”

WINiT, founded in 2014, has over 2,800 members in more than 43 countries representing over 600 companies in the travel, meeting, event and exhibition industries.
