Canadian Electronic Travel Authorization begins March 15

Some travelers will require eTAs to enter the country.

Starting March 15, visa-exempt foreign travelers who fly to or through Canada will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). U.S. citizens and foreign travelers with valid visas will not need eTAs.

BCD Travel is notifying customers’ affected travelers about the new requirement. Since the end of January a message will appear on relevant itinerary confirmations and ticket receipts for trips scheduled March 15 or later. The notifications provide a link to a Canadian government website where travelers can check if they need the new authorization and find out how to apply.
