GBTA honors BCD’s Torsten Kriedt

Luoma Award recognizes innovation and collaboration benefitting the industry.

Torsten Kriedt, vice president of Product Strategy & Innovation, BCD Travel

BCD Travel’s Torsten Kriedt has received the Global Business Travel Association Luoma Award for fostering collaboration and furthering new ideas that benefit the business travel industry, particularly in Europe.

Kriedt, BCD’s vice president of Product Strategy & Innovation, was presented the award at a GBTA conference in Frankfurt in late November. The association noted several of Kriedt’s contributions, including his position on the GBTA Europe Regional Advisory Board and his leadership role in association projects. He was involved in the development of GBTA’s Managed Travel Index® and Sustainability in Travel Self-Assessment Tool, both of which help travel managers identify areas of strength and opportunity within their corporate programs and offer recommendations for improvement.

GBTA established the Luoma Award in 2011 in honor of Jutta Luoma, the executive director of the Finnish Business Travel Association. The association describes the ideal recipient as an industry contributor who is “independent-minded, willing to raise new ideas within the sector both publicly and privately, and effective in providing direction for European travel and meetings management.”

Gehan Colliander, chair of the GBTA Europe Advisory Board, said Kriedt met these “significant thresholds” and has been an outstanding contributor to GBTA in Europe.

At BCD, Kriedt helps create products and provide insights that allow clients to better manage their travel programs. The products his team works on include DecisionSource®, a leading intelligence and analytics for program managers; TripSource®, an award-winning mobile platform designed for travelers; and future-proofing solutions for traveler security, simplified payments and more.
