Sixteen-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg’s protests against climate change have sparked support among thousands of followers throughout Europe. But business travelers in the region have been slow to join the “Greta effect” movement, which advocates for decreased dependency on fuels used to power trains and planes, among other things.
Holger Schmeding, managing director for BCD Travel Germany, told news magazine Der Spiegel that business travelers still choose air travel more often than environmentally friendly trains, despite the growing awareness.
