BCD Travel announces new partner in Nigeria

Quantum Travels becomes BCD Travel in Nigeria

Leading global travel management company signs exclusive partnership agreement with Quantum Travels in Nigeria

LAGOS, NIGERIA, February 25, 2009 – Quantum Travels Nigeria Limited, a privately owned company and one of the nation’s leading travel management companies, is pleased to announce that it has joined BCD Travel, one of the largest global travel management companies, as its exclusive representative and official Partner in Nigeria.

Quantum Travels was established in October 2003 and has grown to become one of Nigeria’s leading travel agencies, with clients in the corporate, international aid agency and non-governmental organization (NGO) sectors. Accredited by IATA, the agency offers a complete range of solutions for the needs of business and leisure travelers. With 20 employees, Quantum Travels currently operates from two locations in Lagos.

BCD Travel simplifies and streamlines the corporate travel process, helping companies manage and control the movement of their people, information and resources. Clients can take advantage of BCD Travel’s presence and technology infrastructure to track every trip, every traveler and the costs incurred throughout every journey.

“To speak of the increasing globalization of today’s marketplace has become commonplace. But the ability to provide real and accessible solutions to the companies acting in that marketplace is far less common – and it is precisely in this domain that BCD Travel’s strengths emerge,” said Paul Tracy, BCD Travel’s vice president of Growth & Emerging Markets. “Our development in Nigeria signifies we are now better positioned than ever before to deliver our travel solutions to national and multinational customers around the globe.”
Michael Olajomi Otubu, managing director of Quantum Travels, said, “We are delighted by this exclusive partnership and our evolution as BCD Travel in Nigeria. We are confident that our years of experience in proffering strategic business solutions to corporate clients in Nigeria will add significant value to this relationship.”
Charles Obioha, executive director, Quantum Travels, added: “The partnership with BCD Travel clearly strengthens our objective of delivering a simple, streamlined and complete source of travel management solution to our corporate clients. Our clients are certain to benefit from the synergy between global best practices and national market knowledge.”

At the end of 2007, BCD Travel began developing Africa within a hub strategy, followed 12 months ago with the appointment of a strategic development manager (SDM) for the region, Tosan Woode, whose objective is to drive expansion and business development, introduce new technology and operational processes and raise awareness of the BCD Travel brand.

With the signing of the partnership of Quantum Travels in Nigeria and eight other new Partners covering Gabon, Ghana, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda, BCD Travel has doubled its presence in sub-Saharan Africa over the last 12 months.
BCD Travel’s expansion within Africa will continue focusing on new markets in the months to come.
