Raytheon names BCD Travel an EPIC supplier

Global support, crisis management cited as areas of excellence for award.

U.S. defense contractor Raytheon awarded BCD Travel a 2017 Supplier Excellence Program EPIC Award, its highest honor for supplier customer service and operational excellence. The company, which employs 63,000 employees worldwide and recorded $24 billion in 2016 sales, annually recognizes suppliers for e excellence in performance, innovation and collaboration, i.e., “EPIC” service.

Raytheon cited BCD for outstanding global support, crisis management, audit assistance and customized processes and procedures—all in support of Raytheon programs, key goals and initiatives.

No matter what challenge I put in front of my [BCD] account management and ops teams, they always find a way to deliver on my requests,” said Jeanine Davis, travel commodity manager at Raytheon. “The personnel at BCD are the best in the industry, as is the reporting, technology and strategic outlook. BCD’s approach to solving our business needs is unsurpassed in what I consider to be a very complex environment.”

BCD Travel Senior Vice President Tracy Maier said the Raytheon recognition is an important measure of the travel management company’s success. “Raytheon’s standards are extremely high. We’re honored to receive this prestigious award,” she said. “We believe if we focus on the customer first, achieving our other goals will follow.”

Raytheon has been a BCD client since 2007, and this is the second time the travel management company has received an EPIC Award. BCD is the primary or consolidated TMC for 30 of the 100 largest companies in the United States by total booked air volume, according to Business Travel News.
