GBTA recap: Finding balance in Denver

The 48th annual Global Business Travel Association convention brought over 6,500 corporate travel professionals to Denver, Colorado, July 16-20 for networking, education and development.

During the convention, several BCD clients and employees were honored for achievements, among them:

  • Jill Huffman, Cardinal Health senior manager of global travel and meetings management, was recognized by BTN as a Best Practitioner. She earned the award by using technology tools in new ways to dig into hotel compliance and optimize her program.
  • Dorian Stonie, Salesforce senior manager of global travel, was recognized by Business Travel News as Travel Manager of the Year for a strategic vision that is transforming the supplier relationship and increasing traveler compliance.
  • Jim Wilkins, senior director of corporate travel services for Turner Broadcasting, was presented with the Direct Member of the Year Award for his dedication to advancing both GBTA and the travel management profession.
  • BCD Travel’s Deb Cruz, vice president of global sales, and Kim Kearns, senior director of Supplier Relations, were presented with Global Leadership Professional® (GLP) designations. The master’s-level GLP curriculum addresses opportunities and challenges of today’s business travel environment.
