World Environment Day 2018: Help beat plastic pollution

BCD Travel employees join worldwide effort to reduce plastic pollution.

Every year, up to 13 million tons of plastic makes its way into our oceans, where it smothers coral reefs and threatens vulnerable marine wildlife. In an effort to address the serious ecological threat posed by plastic pollution, the United Nations is using its annual World Environment Day on June 5 to “beat plastic pollution.” For the 2018 World Environment Day (WED), organizers have come up with the slogan: “If you can’t reuse it, refuse it.”

In conjunction with WED, BCD Travel and its 13,500 global employees have committed to reducing single-use or disposable plastic waste by 25% by taking such actions as eliminating plastic water bottles in company meeting rooms.
