As a BCD client, Airbnb benefits from booking data it supplies

The companies plan to begin full data integration in a few months.

Airbnb is both a business partner and a client of BCD Travel, and that makes the alternative accommodations provider an ideal test case for a new data-integration agreement between the companies. As reported in The Beat, BCD is conducting quality tests on how to fold Airbnb booking data into DecisionSource©, BCD’s proprietary business intelligence and security platform.

The companies plan to begin full data integration in the next few months, and the travel management company may even incorporate Airbnb into its TripSource booking portal, BCD’s Torsten Kriedt told The Beat. “Given that we are really close partners with Airbnb, there is more to come,” said Kriedt, vice president of product strategy and innovation.

BCD Travel and Airbnb for Business announced their data-sharing agreement on July 12. The integrated data will enable tracking of business travelers’ locations and travel patterns when they book Airbnb listings. As a result, companies will be able to more effectively prepare travelers for potential risks before their trips; keep track of travelers around the world; and connect with them in a crisis. The Airbnb data integration also will give BCD clients a more comprehensive view of travel program spend.
