Advito launches virtual collaboration practice, teams with Cisco

Virtual meeting services help business travelers decide whether to stay or go.

Business travel consultancy Advito has joined forces with IT leader Cisco to help companies increase use of virtual collaboration solutions like video conferencing and telepresence.

The recently announced agreement—which includes Advito parent company BCD Travel—signals the start of Advito’s Total Collaboration Management practice. It’s designed to help companies promote employee work-life balance and better align travel costs to business goals. The practice enables businesses and their travelers to objectively evaluate whether staff should travel or stay put.

“Virtual collaboration solutions can now effectively replace travel in many circumstances,” said Advito Managing Director April Bridgeman. “We see a new discipline emerging that uses a strategic approach to deciding which trips drive value and which meetings are best handled by virtual collaboration.”
