2018 holds challenges for APAC travel managers

As hotel rates rise, diversified sourcing can create savings, advises Advito’s regional expert.

Claire Ollivier, Advito senior director, APAC

This year is shaping up to be a challenge for travel managers in Asia Pacific, warns Advito’s Claire Ollivier in a new Outfront blog post.

Ollivier, APAC senior director for the business travel consultancy, draws on the firm’s analysis of market data to predict higher regional airfares and hotel demand that outpaces supply.

But she also sees opportunities in rail travel, automation and diversified hotel sourcing strategies that take advantage of Dynamic Performance Management.

Olliver and Steve Peterman, Advito vice president and principal Advito, will guide travel buyers through using diversified hotel sourcing strategies to boost savings in an upcoming webinar:

“Better results in APAC and elsewhere will come from focusing efforts in real-time brand and property performance management, rather than solely on the annual hotel RFP process,” Ollivier said. “Adjusting your program on an ongoing basis is the new approach to realizing savings in hotel spend.”
