Two awards in one month: What’s BCD’s secret?

BCD Travel was recently voted Best Travel Management Company and TMC of the Year 2019 in the Netherlands. In a LinkedIn post Diederik Banken shares a few developments that, in his opinion, have created enormous added value in 2019.

BCD Travel was recently voted Best Travel Management Company and TMC of the Year 2019 in the Netherlands. “There’s a lot of happy and proud faces in the office,” says Diederik Banken, Vice President Belgium, The Netherlands & Luxembourg at BCD Travel. “And we can certainly be proud, because behind all these awards are colleagues who constantly go the extra mile in managing travel programs for customers and in working on innovative tools that benefit the entire business travel industry. That’s why this focus on innovation is such an important key to our success story.”

In a LinkedIn post Diederik Banken shares a few developments that, in his opinion, have created enormous added value in 2019:

  1. Consumers, and therefore business travelers, expect a personalized experience. TripSource® is the platform with which we respond to that need. The jury of the “TMC of the Year” award acknowledged this: “The platform strategy and digital vision that BCD Travel has put in place fits in very well with the needs expressed by corporate travel professionals.”
  2. SolutionSource®, our online marketplace for business travel customers, has expanded this year. Our customers now have access to BCD-approved industry technologies across nine categories, including traveler services, duty of care, guest travel, program optimization and more. For the business travel industry, this is of course an enormous added value. And it doesn’t stop there. We are currently working on a hub for developers giving them access to tools they can leverage to build corporate travel solutions tailored for BCD clients. More news soon.
  3. The jury also acknowledged BCD’s efforts with regard to the New Distribution Capability (NDC): “Their own services are combined with technology and services from third parties and linked into one platform, where NDC is seen as an additional booking channel for the benefit of the customer and where change is part of the business strategy.”

Of course, these are just a few of the developments that make BCD a pioneer. Initiatives such as our Inform papers, constant investments in online platforms like Connect, research into business travel trends and predictions, and much more contribute to our success story on a daily basis. The many awards are a recognition of that, and we are very proud of it.
