5 tips to make the summer feeling last longer

Back from vacation and don’t want to end up back in the daily grind immediately?

Back from vacation and don’t want to end up back in the daily grind immediately? Then transfer the holiday feeling to your everyday life. With these 5 summer timeouts you feel like being on holidays although you are working.

1) Picnic basket for lunch

Pack a really nice picnic basket with lots of goodies – and not just for yourself, but for your favorite colleagues as well. They will be more than happy when you arrive in the office with this surprise. And during the lunch break go together to the park or the river, wide the picnic blanket and make the lunch break a real break. Bet you all return back to work with good mood?

2) Visit open air events

In summer many cities and regions host music festivals, vaudeville days or open air movies. There is certainly an event you always wanted to visit. And this year, you do not just talk about it, but also do it! Whether it’s just an evening event or you reserve an entire weekend, such festivals usually have their own atmosphere and it won’t feel like every day at all.

3) Bicycle tour to the lake

For most people, the work days are so tightly scheduled that there is little room for additional activity. But it is worthwhile to break the routine. If the weather forecast is particularly good, pack the beach bag the night before already, get up half an hour earlier the next morning and ride a bike to work. Not only that you arrive in the office with the good feeling to have done something for yourself, after work there is even the lido or the lake waiting for you. The working time inbetween might only feel as a minor matter this day.

4) Stay away

If your vacation has been a while ago, you might already fancy a change of scenery. Stay just one night elsewhere. That must be neither expensive nor complicated. One night in the nice, small guesthouse in the old town or if you have children one night on the campsite or in a tent in the garden would be enough. Even if you are not far away from home, yet it feels like a getaway.

5) Tourist in your own city

Do you still notice how beautiful the area is which you drive through every day? Sometimes you lose sight of the interesting little things, because they become the norm. Just take a guided tour of your city or a quarter you do not know very well. There are so many great deals nowadays: culinary tours, ecological city tours or tours using sightseeing Apps. Try it out – and let yourself be infected by the holiday feeling of the other participants.
