Staying a safe distance apart is obviously key, so contact has been minimised throughout the pick-up and return process. Staff all have masks and gloves, and hand sanitisers, clear social distancing markings and counter screens in place at every depot. Where applicable, passenger numbers are strictly limited on Avis buses to maintain social distancing.
Hygiene is another critical factor and Avis has protocols that include a deep clean of every vehicle before and after each rental. Approved disinfectants are used and special attention is paid to high-touch areas like steering wheels, entertainment systems, cup holders, door handles and gear sticks.
Avis also offers a contactless rental experience option. Avis Preferred members can walk directly to the Avis car where the keys and paperwork are waiting. This ‘Self-Serve’ option is available at many locations across Europe.
