In Brazil, LATAM has created new technology for cleaning aircraft using ultraviolet light. LATAM Airlines Group has become the first airline group in Latin America to create a plane-cleaning robot that uses ultraviolet (UV) lights, which eliminates up to 99.9% of viruses and bacteria on board. The robot prototype was created by LATAM in collaboration with the Physics Institute of Sao Carlos (IFSC /USP).
