BCD Travel has acquired BSI France

BSI France joins one of the most expansive corporate travel management companies globally.

BCD Travel has acquired the French operations of BSI, a provider of industry-leading purchasing & expense management solutions in hotel accommodation and meeting management in France and the United Kingdom, the companies announced today. BSI owner Capital Travel & Events continues to operate BSI U.K., a BCD Travel partner.

Now operating under the BCD Travel brand, the former BSI France joins one of the most expansive corporate travel management companies globally, securing access for clients to a global talent pool of more than 11.000 and a global growth strategy driven by committed private shareholder. The recently rebranded BCD Meetings & Events will fold BSI’s meetings and events services, including venue sourcing, online meeting booking, meeting space management and delegate and security tracking, into its French service portfolio. The access to BSI’s specialist hotel and meetings technology and to specialist content and rates is part of the agreement of acquisition.

Heinz Jennewein lo-res“Our acquisition of BSI France yields benefits for all parties—beginning with corporate travel clients,” said Heinz Jennewein, BCD Travel senior vice president, EMEA South West.  “The deal provides former BSI France customers added confidence in the future business continuity in the French market and speed of access to BCD’s ongoing product and service innovations. And BCD Travel can build upon BSI’s successes in France and introduce an expansive portfolio of satisfied French clients to the BCD Meetings & Events brand.”

Launched 26 years ago, BSI France has built an extensive client portfolio, including many widely known brands. As a provider of industry-leading purchasing & expense management solutions in the accommodation and meeting management sector, BSI ranks internationally among the top procurement specialists. BCD Travel will include BSI’s accommodation services in its French offering.

“One of Capita Travel and Events’ key ongoing initiatives includes providing a solution to the high proportion of hotels and apartments in Europe that are unavailable via the industry’s standard distribution systems,” said Trevor Elswood, chief commercial officer, Capita Travel and Events. “We’ll continue to address this issue for BSI France’s and BCD’s now joint customers through our own specialist technology, supplier relationships and negotiated rates and availability.”
