Corporate travel is changing fast, and BCD Travel is investing in a “warp-speed engine” to keep pace, said Yannis Karmis, the company’s senior vice president of product planning and development. Karmis talked to the Global Business Travel Association’s Caitlin Gomez at the organization’s annual conference held July 15-19 in Boston.
BCD is investing in travel technology, not just service delivery, and finding new ways to use data, intelligence and analytics to drive mobile offerings and enhanced traveler experiences, Karmis said. When it comes to managing travel policies, the company is using messaging and behavioral economics to educate travelers, help them make better purchasing decisions and support them at every stage of a trip.
