Raise your voice, not the sea level

World Environment Day is June 5

Established by the United Nations in 1972, World Environment Day (WED) is a reminder to take action for a cleaner, greener and brighter future. We think that’s a perfect fit for a company dedicated to the “next, next generation.” Our company’s mission and vision go beyond products and profits to being better global citizens. Since joining the UN Global Compact in 2008, we’re committed to supporting UN initiatives.

This year’s WED theme is Raise your voice, not the sea level. Greenhouse gas emissions are leading to harmful changes in climatic patterns. When global temperature warms, seawater expands, ice melts and sea levels rise. And low-lying island states like the Maldives, Tuvalu, Kiribati and The Marshall Islands are in danger of losing inhabited areas and cultural sites.

Our employees are taking the WED challenge to prevent further destruction. Leading up to WED, we’ll be making pledges that positively impact our environment; we encourage you to do the same! Consider what you can do at home or at work to make a difference. For ideas on what to pledge and how to “green up” your daily routine, click here.

We look forward to celebrating World Environment Day with you on June 5!
