Checked baggage

Checked Baggage policies vary based on carrier, destination, booking class and frequent flyer status. Fees may apply and be payable at time of check in. For the latest information, please check with the airline.

Schedule changes/reconfirmations

Since many tickets are issued well in advance of the actual departure date and schedule changes do occur, we strongly suggest that you contact the airline you will be travelling with to verify flight times. Since airline schedules are subject to change without notice, it is suggested that the traveller always reconfirm reservations and that the transporting air carrier be contacted for applicable requirements.

Travel advice

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) provides current travel advice for international travel. We recommend you visit their website at www.dfat.gov.au/travel. DFAT operates a 24-hour Consular Emergency Centre: 1300 555 135 within Australia (local call cost) or +61 2 6261 3305 from outside Australia.

Documentation

Some airport security regulations require that all passengers present positive photo identification (such as a driver’s license or passport) before boarding an aircraft. Please check with the airline and your travel agent for proper documentation required for your flight.

Seats and meals

Seat selection and meal requests, based on traveller profile information, will be made whenever possible and included in the details of the itinerary. Airlines reserve the right to release pre-selected seats if check-in is not met. In some instances meal requests may not be available at time of travel due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the airlines control.

No shows, changes or cancellations

Many airlines, hotels and car hire companies charge cancellation penalties and no show fees. Please notify BCD Travel if you are unable to travel. Failure to comply may incur fees or forfeited bookings

Insurances

Airline and other travel suppliers’ insurance for baggage may have limited coverage. Your personal insurance may not adequately cover losses incurred by cancellation, accident, illness, or stolen or damaged property. Travel insurance is highly recommended for all travel. Please ensure you are appropriately covered. If unsure, please contact your travel consultant.
