The European Commission has decided on an important change which relates to rental cars in Switzerland. The new rule applies to customers with residence in the EU, no matter what nationality they are.
- If a customer wishes to use the rental car in Switzerland only, there is no change.
- However if the customer wishes to drive cross border from Switzerland and/or wishes to return the vehicle outside Switzerland to a country other than that of his residence, then this will only be possible with a car with an EU license.
