A veteran of the travel industry, Mike co-founded UK agency The Travel Company in 1981. In 2006, BCD Holdings N.V. acquired a majority shareholding in The Travel Company as part of the creation of BCD Travel.

Mike’s career in travel began at the age of 17, and – apart from a two-year period in marketing and advertising – he has remained in the travel industry throughout his professional life.    

Over the years, Mike continued to build The Travel Company, creating a reputation for providing top quality service. By the end of 2005, The Travel Company was the UK’s largest independent travel agency, with an annual turnover of 240 million pounds and a staff of approximately 500 associates based in eight regional offices.
